I am delighted to be able to work alongside the Maxwell Society in improving the student experience. Not only does the Society promote physics through invited speakers and external visits, but it also helps develop student skills, vital for employment and further study. And the enthusiasm of the officers make them a pleasure to work alongside.

University is about gaining an education and earning a good degree. It is also about growing up, making friends, gaining confidence and being a part of something. The Maxwell Society provides a good example, a good balance and a place where people can get involved. The Maxwell Society officers have always been the beating heart of the Physics Department and it has always been a pleasure to interact with them.

I really enjoyed Cumberland Lodge, in particular this year (2019) - it was a great atmosphere and the lecturers were so easy to talk to.
Attending the Cumberland Lodge trip (2019) was the best thing I did in the second semester as it helped me become more comfortable and confident to make new friends within the Physics community after struggling to do so in the previous semester.
